2.2.4 Embarazo y control prenatal, según nivel de ingreso del hogar
Según el nivel de ingreso del hogar, se encontró que las embarazadas
que pertenecen al estrato de bajos ingresos (primer y segundo quintil),
en un porcentaje importante no recibieron atención prenatal teniendo en
cuenta que el 53,4 % de mujeres gestantes pertenecían a hogares de
bajos ingresos (ver cuadro N° 64). En cambio, las embarazadas ubicadas
en el estrato alto (quinto quintil) casi la totalidad (97,0 %) tuvo
control prenatal.
Las mujeres embarazadas del área urbana con bajos niveles de ingresos
(primer quintil 76,4 % y segundo quintil 84,8 %) tuvieron mayor control
prenatal que sus pares del área rural (52,3% y 59,7% respectivamente).
