6.1 PARTICIPACION DEL HOGAR EN LA ACTIVIDAD AGROPECUARIA
En los hogares de los 5 446 productores individuales del
departamento de Madre de Dios que conducen 288 754,80 Has. existen
27 411 miembros, entre hijos e hijas, c줻yuges, parientes y otras
personas viviendo en los hogares. Esto determina un promedio de 5
miembros por hogar.
Del total de miembros de estos hogares, el 57,9 % participan en
las labores agropecuarias de las propias unidades agropecuarias y 2,9%
participan en tareas de otras unidades agropecuarias.
Los resultados para este tema, por provincias, son parecidos a
los encontrados para el departamento en su conjunto.

La investigaci줻 de acuerdo al tama쨚 de las unidades
agropecuarias arroja resultados parecidos a los hallados para todo el
departamento, excepto en el estrato de los minifundistas (con UA
menores de 3,0 Has.) donde la participaci줻 de los miembros de los
hogares en las propias fincas aumenta a 64,0 % y en otras fincas
disminuye a 1,6 %.

A nivel departamental, de los 27 411 miembros de estos hogares,
16 024 son hombres y 11 387 son mujeres. El 64,2 % de los hombres y el
49,0% de las mujeres participan en las tareas de las propias unidades.
El an쟫isis por provincias indica que la mayor participaci줻 de
los hombres se presenta en Tambopata (64,8 %) y de las mujeres en Manu
(55,0 %). En cambio, la menor participaci줻 de los hombres y mujeres
se da en Tahuamanu con 63,1 % y 39,4 %, respectivamente.

La participaci줻 en las labores agropecuarias de los miembros del
hogar, tomando en cuenta si son hijos u otros miembros del hogar y si
son menores o mayores de 15 a쨚s de edad, es la siguiente:
Del total de miembros del hogar que participan, el mayor
porcentaje corresponde a otros miembros mayores de 15 a쨚s (74,6%);
seguidos de los hijos menores de 15 a쨚s (14,0 %); en tercer lugar, se
hallan los hijos mayores de 15 a쨚s (9,8 %); y con una participaci줻
m죒ima, los otros miembros menores de 15 a쨚s (1,6 %).
Las relaciones descritas para el total de los miembros del hogar,
se mantienen con porcentajes muy parecidos tanto para los hombres como
para las mujeres
T굈gase presente que los menores de 15 a쨚s de edad y las mujeres
adultas no cumplen su trabajo a jornada completa. Los menores porque
combinan las tareas de campo con sus estudios y las mujeres porque
adem쟳 tienen que atender los quehaceres del hogar. El trabajo de los
menores de 15 a쨚s est� ligado sobre todo a cuidar de los animales,
llevarlos a pastorear en las ma쨅nas y recogerlos en las tardes, a
juntar y quemar la maleza cortada y a realizar algunas tareas de la
cosecha.

Los resultados del censo de 1994 sobre el mismo tema,
considerando el tama쨚 de las fincas, se쨅la que los porcentajes dados
a conocer para el departamento en su conjunto, son tambi굈 parecidos
en cada uno de los estratos de unidades.
En todos los estratos, si bien la m쟳 alta participaci줻
corresponde a los otros miembros mayores de 15 a쨚s, 굎ta se presenta
con m쟳 굈fasis (77,1 %) en los peque쨚s agricultores (con UA de 3,0 a
9,9 Has.). El siguiente grupo de participaci줻, al igual que en el
departamento, es tambi굈 el de los hijos menores de 15 a쨚s,
destacando en este caso (con 14,5 %), los grandes agricultores (con UA
de 50,0 y m쟳 Has.).
