1.3 DISTRIBUCION POR SEXO
El 72,1 % de los 117 252 productores individuales (personas
naturales y sociedades de hecho) del departamento de Jun¡n, son
hombres y tienen el manejo del 83,1% de la superficie agropecuaria
departamental. Por complemento, el 27,9% de los productores pertenecen
al sexo femenino y manejan solamente, el 16,9 % de las tierras
agropecuarias.

a. Seg£n Provincia
Esta distribuci¢n por sexo se mantiene tambi‚n a nivel
provincial, con ligeras variantes. En todas las provincias, es mayor
el n£mero de productores hombres que de mujeres; esta diferencia es
m s extrema en la provincia de Satipo donde el 88,9 % son hombres y
solamente el 11,1 % son mujeres.
La provincia de Jauja, registra la menor proporci¢n de
productores hombres (65,8%) que manejan el 79,6 % de la superficie de
esta provincia y las mujeres (34,2 %) conducen el 20,4 % restante.
Debemos destacar que casi la tercera parte de la superficie
(30,4%) de la provincia de Jun¡n es manejada por mujeres (que
presentan el 25,3 % del total de productores de la provincia).
b. Seg£n Regi¢n Natural
La distribuci¢n del sexo de los productores por regiones
naturales sigue tambi‚n el patr¢n departamental, siendo en la Selva
mayor el porcentaje de hombres y de tierras que conducen (86,3% de los
productores y 88,1% de las tierras), que en la Sierra (67,7 % de los
productores y 78,4 % de las tierras).
