7.2 CAJAS RURALES DE AHORRO Y CREDITO
Las cajas Rurales, fueron creadas por Decreto Ley 25612 con
la finalidad de realizar intermediaci¢n financiera, en apoyo de la ac-
tividad econ¢mica que se desarrolla en el mbito rural.
En el departamento de Huancavelica el 93,3 % de los productores
agropecuarios que conducen 1 167 244,27 Has. (89,4 % de las tierras
trabajadas), desconocen la existencia de las cajas rurales de ahorro.
Estas cajas, como instituciones dedicadas a financiar y otorgar pr‚s-
tamos agr¡colas s¢lo son conocidas por 5 722 productores (6,7 %) que
conducen 10,6 % de las tierras trabajadas (138 246,81 Has). De estos,
apenas 686 productores (0,8 %), que controlan 12 854,20 Has. (1,0 % de
la superficie agropecuaria del departamento), tienen acciones de estas
cajas.
a. Seg£n Provincia
Es en la provincia de Angaraes, Churcampa y Castrovirreyna donde
existe un mayor nivel de desconocimiento sobre las funciones y bene-
ficios de las cajas rurales (con 96,0 %, 94,8 % y 94,0 % respecti-
vamente).
En Huaytar y Acobamba, si bien hay mayor conocimiento, este
no es significativo. S¢lo 7,6 % y 7,4 % de los productores de estas
provincias, conoc¡an sobre estas Cajas y ten¡an acciones, 0,4 % y
0,8 respectivamente .

El conocimiento de las cajas rurales de ahorro y cr‚dito en los
productores con tierras del departamento de Huancavelica; est
en relaci¢n directa al tama¤o de las unidades agropecuarias que
conducen: A mayor extensi¢n de la UA, mayor conocimiento.
En el minifundio, s¢lo 5,5 % de los productores tienen conoci-
miento, en la peque¤a agricultura es de 7,9 %, en la mediana
de 11,0 % y en la grande de 12,4 %.
En los productores sin tierras, el nivel de conocimiento era
de 7,6 %.
