1.6 CONDICION DE ALFABETISMO
El 85,4 % de los productores agropecuarios individuales
que conducen el 83,8 % del total de tierras agropecuarias, saben leer y
escribir. El 12,2 % restante que conduce el 14,0 % de las tierras, por
su condici¢n de analfabetos, est n en desventaja para conocer por
medios escritos lo relacionado con la t‚cnica y administraci¢n de sus
respectivas unidades productivas.

Esta situaci¢n es parecida en las seis provincias del
departamento; bajando ligeramente el porcentaje de los productores
alfabetos a 78,3 % en la Provincia de Alto Amazonas.
En todos los grupos de edad es predominante el porcentaje
de productores que saben leer y escribir. El m s alto, 91,4 %,
corresponde a los que tienen menos de 30 a¤os de edad, siguiendo una
tendencia decreciente en los dem s grupos, hasta bajar a 74,8 % en el
grupo de productores que tienen 65 y m s a¤os de edad.

De otra parte, la condici¢n de alfabetismo seg£n el tama¤o
de las UA, muestra una relaci¢n creciente de los productores alfabetos a
medida que aumenta el tama¤o de las UA, hasta llegar al estrato de 10,0
a 49,9 Has., donde alcanza un punto maximo, 86,3 % del total de
productores, para luego descender en la gran agricultura (De 50 y m s
Has.) a 82,6 %.
