2.4 ANDENES Y TERRAZAS
El Censo Agropecuario de 1994 registra en el departamento de
Amazonas la existencia de 122 UA con andenes y/o terrazas. De estas,
el 86,1 % disponen de terrazas y solamente 13,9 % poseen andenes.
S¢lo las provincias de Chachapoyas y Luya cuentan con esta
infraestructura. La primera tiene 12 UA exclusivamente con andenes;
y Luya tiene 110 UA, de las cuales 4,5 % tienen andenes y 95,5 %
terrazas.

A nivel de estratos, destacan las UA que disponen de terrazas
en el primer, segundo y tercer estrato, con un 88,0 %, 90,9 % y 83,8
%, respectivamente. S¢lo en el estrato de los grandes productores
destacan los andenes con un 60,0 % de las UA.
En Chachapoyas, solamente se dispone de andenes; mientras que
en Luya, sobresalen grandemente las UA con terrazas a nivel de todos
los estratos.
Un fen¢meno parecido puede apreciarse a nivel de superficie;
donde las UA con terrazas tienen un 93,0 % de la superficie y los
andenes un 7,0 %.
