1.5 LUGAR DE RESIDENCIA
En el departamento de Lambayeque el 56,5 % de los productores
individuales no viven en sus unidades agropecuarias, desconoci‚ndose
si sus viviendas est n pr¢ximas o distantes de las UA; en cambio, 43,1
% declaran residir dentro de sus unidades productivas.
a) Seg£n Provincia
En las provincias de Chiclayo y Lambayeque es a£n m s alto el
n£mero de productores que viven fuera de sus UA el 69,3 % y 54,9 %,
respectivamente; a diferencia de lo que ocurre en Ferre¤afe, donde el
porcentaje de los que no viven en sus unidades baja a 42,4 % y los que
residen dentro de ellas crece a 57,4 %.

b) Seg£n tama¤o de las Unidades Agropecuarias
De los productores individuales por tama¤o de las unidades agro-
pecuarias,se observa que a nivel departamental, los que evidencian m s
a residir dentro de la UA son los medianos agricultores (56,4 %). En
los dos extremos que comprende a las peque¤as y grandes UA se observa
la residencia de un 48,3 y 43,2 % respectivamente, repiti‚ndose
diferencias casi similares en las provincia de Chiclayo y Lambayeque;
mientras tanto, en Ferre¤afe tanto a nivel de minifundio como dentro
de la peque¤a y gran agricultura se da una mayor residencia dentro de
dichas unidades, en especial en la mediana agricultura que supera el
71,0 %.

c) Seg£n Regi¢n Natural
El lugar de residencia de los productores individuales es dife-
rente en las dos regiones. Mientras en la Costa, el 61,2 % de ellos no
viven en sus UA, en la Sierra, el 81,9 % viven en su UA. En la Costa,
estas relaciones porcentuales con ligeras variantes se mantienen en
todos los estratos de tama¤o de las UA, d ndose las mayores proporcio-
nes de no residencia en los estratos minifundistas (66,0 %) y grandes
productores (59,9 %). En la Sierra, en cambio, la residencia en la
unidad agropecuaria aumenta en los tres primeros estratos. El 77,8 %
de los minifundistas viven en la UA, lo que aumenta a 82,8 % y 87,4 %
respectivamente, en los dos estratos siguientes, para caer ligeramente
en el estrato de los grandes productores (85,7 %).
