4.3 CULTIVOS PERMANENTES Y DESTINO DE LA MAYOR PARTE DE LA
PRODUCCION.
4.3.1 Principales Cultivos Permanentes
El manzano, palto, melocotonero - durazno, mango y el
naranjo pueden considerarse como los principales cultivos
permanentes en el departamento de Ancash. El manzano se
produce en 739,69 Has. distribuidas en 933 unidades
agropecuarias, es el m s importante, ya que ello representa el
12,2% de UA que tienen cultivos permanentes con el 15,6% de la
superficie.
Por superficie cultivada, son tambi‚n importantes el
palto (9,3 %), el melocot¢n -durazno (5,9 %), mango (5,4 %) y
el naranjo (3,8 %).
Los cultivos permanentes constituyen "bienes ra¡ces", por
lo que demandan inversi¢n para su instalaci¢n, reval£an el
precio de las unidades agropecuarias, permanecen en el terreno
por varios a¤os y brindan muchas cosechas.
a. Seg£n Provincia
Las provincia de Bolognesi, Casma, Huaylas, Ocros,
Pallasca, Santa y Yungay concentran, en conjunto el 76,7 % de
la superficie con cultivos permanentes (3 645,06 Has.) y el
62,7 % de las unidades agropecuarias (4 788 UA).
Al interior de estas provincias el manzano es cultivado en
785 UA (84,1 % de la producci¢n total de dicho producto del
departamento), y en 680,62 Has. (92,0 % de la superficie); el
palto se cultiva en 506 UA (81,6% de la producci¢n total del
departamento), en 385,53 Has. (86,8 % de superficie); el
melocotonero es cultivado en 376 UA (54,4 % respecto a la
producci¢n total de departamento) en 154,72 Has. (55,0 % de
superficie); el mango es cultivado en 151 UA (87,8 % de la
producci¢n total del departamento) en 233,68 Has. (90,3 % de
superficie con dicho producto); y el naranjo es cultivada en
112 UA (84,2 % de la producci¢n total del departamento) y en

Cabe destacar que la mayor superficie destinada para la
produci¢n de manzana, se da en Bolognesi en 268,95 Has., que
representa el 53,9 % de la superficie con cultivos permanentes,
seguido por Pallasca en 162,80 Has. (34,1 %), Santa
(96,77 Has.) , Yungay (57,01 Has.) y Ocros (56,42 Has.).
Del mismo modo para la producci¢n del palto, Bolognesi
destina 109,29 Has., en Casma 83,86 Has., en Santa 141,28 Has.,
Huarmey 33,95 Has. y Yungay 30,68 Has.
Las mayores superficies para la producci¢n de melocot¢n -
durazno se da en Carhuaz (107,66 Has.) y Ocros (58,90 Has.) y
Yungay (65,68 Has.). El resto de cultivos permanentes tienen
superficies m¡nimas, llegando al caso de no representar ni
media hect rea como en la provincia de Carlos F. Fitzcarrald.
b. Seg£n Regi¢n Natural
En la regi¢n de la Sierra se encuentra la mayor parte de
los cultivos permanentes del departamento de Ancash, en ella
se concentran 3 001,25 Has, en 5 914 UA, de las cuales 506,08
Has. corresponden al cultivo de manzano, 167,40 Has. a palto,
277,53 Has. a melocotonero, 60,53 Has. a mango y 150,14 a
naranjo.
En la regi¢n de la Costa se tienen 1 718 unidades
agropecuarias con 1 751,22 Has. con cultivos permanentes. De
esta rea, el 13,3 % corresponde a manzano, 15,8 % a palto,
0,2 % a melocotonero, 11,3 % a mango y el 1,7 % a naranjo.
